What is eLearning – Feed Hygiene for Primary Production?
This eLearning was developed by TSSW and the FSA to improve/maintain officer competency regarding feed hygiene at primary production. It provides officers with details of the legislative requirements, as well as giving practical advice required to complete a monitoring visit.
What does it offer?
The resource provides an online course with five chapters with associated films. There is an extensive resource bank to compliment each of the chapters. At the end of each chapter there are a short number of questions to test your learning and at the end of the course you can sit an exam. Upon completion of the exam, you will be awarded 6 hours of CPPD. The chapters cover the following:
- Chapter 1 – Legislation – Feed Hygiene and the Management of Associated Hazards
- Chapter 2 – Documentation
- Chapter 3 – Physical Inspections of the Farm
- Chapter 4 – Record Keeping
- Chapter 5 – Outcome of the Inspection
The FSA are currently completing a full review of the course, including the addition of new chapters being created to cover sampling and R10/R11 (and the implications of HACCP and earned recognition). Hence this course is not available currently.
