What is eLearning – Official Feed Controls at Points-of-Entry?
The e-learning was developed by TSSW and the FSA to equip officers with the knowledge which will enable them to design, implement and deliver a proportionate, risk-based, systematic programme of official feed controls at any point-of-entry for which they have a responsibility.
What does it offer?
The resource provides an online course with six chapters with associated films. There is an extensive resource bank to compliment each of the chapters. At the end of each chapter there are a short number of questions to test your learning and at the end of the course you can sit an exam. Upon completion of the exam, you will be awarded 5 hrs 30m of CPPD. The chapters cover the following:
- Chapter 1 – Overview
- Chapter 2 – Feed & Associated Hazards
- Chapter 3 – Monitoring & Assessment Activities at a Point-of-entry
- Chapter 4 – Official Controls
- Chapter 5 – Sampling at a Point-of-entry
- Chapter 6 – Case Study
The FSA have requested a full review of the course, including the addition of a new chapter being created to cover Inland Inspection and the implications of BREXIT. For this reason, those already signed up will continue to be able to access the existing course until the end of December, but we would now encourage any new set ups to wait until the new version of the training is being launched in Spring 2019.
